WHAT JILL STANDS FOR
WANTS TO REPRESENT EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNCIL BLUFFS SCHOOL DISTRICT
Jill comes from a union family, with both her father and brother being strong, active union members.
She wants to make sure the School District shows respect to each employee by providing a contract that includes permissible topics.
Jill believes that strong contracts provide peace of mind and allows the employee to focus on providing the best environment for students to learn.
She has spoken out on this topic several times at the Council Bluffs School Board meetings and will continue to speak out for all employees.
ESTABLISH COMPREHENSIVE MENTAL HEALTH CURRICULUM
Jill has seen the effects of youth suicide and self-harm and how the increase of these events have an effect on our community. She believes that the Council Bluffs School District needs to provide a comprehensive mental health curriculum and have a strong support staff available to all.
She believes that the School District needs to provide counseling to those suffering from mental illness. She also wants to establish a support group for family and friends that are affected by suicide and self-harm.
ADVOCATE FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
Jill was born with a disability which caused her to have many surgeries throughout her young life. With the support of her family, friends, and employees of the Underwood School District, she was able to complete high school with her class and continue on to college.
She was given extra assistance at school and was never made to feel different than the other students.
Jill wants to make sure that the Council Bluffs School District is providing the proper level of care that each student needs and deserves. She will fight for all students.
